  • Eskimos call them "Nanook" and credit them with supernatural powers
  • Hair is clear and hollow though it appears white above black skin

  • Possesses a thick layer of insulating blubber allowing them to swim for up to 60 miles (97 kilometers) without resting
  • During an average lifespan, individuals may travel across 100,000 square miles (259,000 square kilometers) of arctic wilderness
