Summary: Sig and Anne Weiler of Illinois charitably donated title to their 43-acre property along the eastern edge of the Selkirk Mountains to Vital Ground. The property is located close to two wildlife management areas and adjacent to other public lands. The property harbors grizzlies, black bears and a diverse array of other wildlife, and the Weilers wished to permanently safeguard the land as wildlife habitat. Prior to the donation, the Weilers removed an old building on the property, helping to reclaim the habitat values of the land. This donation provided another milestone in Vital Ground's Selkirk Grizzly Bear Habitat Conservation Initiative.
