Collaborative conservation: for grizzlies, people and all things wild.

For nearly three decades, The Vital Ground Foundation has funded projects that protect grizzly habitat and prevent conflicts between bears and people. From conserving crucial chunks of private land on Kodiak Island to retiring conflict-prone grazing leases outside Yellowstone, our partner grants support tangible outcomes that connect and protect grizzly bears.

We offer grants to nonprofit or governmental entities whose missions complement Vital Ground’s. We typically call for grant proposals once or twice per year and award 5-10 grants of $10,000 or less.

UPDATE: Vital Ground is currently accepting applications for 2019 Conservation Partner Grants. Application window: March 1-31.
