Sidney joined the Vital Ground communications team at the start of 2026, bringing a passion for conservation and background in multimedia storytelling to the organization’s digital marketing, social media and other outreach efforts. Sidney grew up in the urban center of Seattle but found her way to the Mountain West as a teenager and never looked back. She began her conservation career on trail and conservation corps crews, and developed a deep, on-the-ground understanding of land stewardship, access, and the importance of intact habitat. She took some detours on her way to Missoula, spending time in the Twin Cities, the northeastern corner of Washington state, eastern Montana, and a memorable few months working in Zion National Park.

Sidney is a proud graduate of the University of Montana, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Sustainability Science & Practice (Go Griz!). Before joining Vital Ground, she worked locally in several communications roles in the environmental and outdoor recreation sectors. Through both her professional work and personal life, Sidney values conservation solutions that support wildlife connectivity, working landscapes, and responsible recreation. When she’s not behind the screens of Vital Ground’s communications channels, Sidney enjoys trail running, hunting, fishing, reading, knitting, trying out new recipes and talking conservation with her fiancé, and attempting to identify birds with varying degrees of confidence.
