Tatum McConnell is a rising senior studying environmental biology at Columbia University. Born and raised near Seattle in the Pacific Northwest, she grew up with a great appreciation for the mountains and oceans and all things wild that live between them. With her passion for the environment and love for writing, she hopes to dedicate her career to communicating the importance of biodiversity conservation. Tatum started interning with Vital Ground after a summer taking classes with Vital Ground ‘s longtime conservation partner, Swan Valley Connections. She fell in love with Montana and its wildlife and is thrilled to work toward protecting it. When she’s not working on a new blog post or updating the Instagram, Tatum can be found painting, singing with her jazz a cappella group, or exploring the environment she’s in, whether that be the great outdoors or the big city.
