Comment Period Open through Land Trust Accreditation Commission
With a mission to both permanently protect and restore grizzly bear habitat, The Vital Ground Foundation’s work as a land trust in the Northern Rockies region relies upon rigorous standards of excellence. From maintaining high-functioning relationships with landowner partners to the granular details of completing voluntary land conservation agreements, we follow the national quality standards of the Land Trust Alliance (LTA) across all our efforts to protect wildlife habitat and open space.
Vital Ground has maintained national accreditation from LTA for more than a decade and periodically completes the Alliance’s reaccreditation process to ensure continued quality in our conservation work. The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. As part of the reaccreditation process, a public comment period is now open.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of LTA, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Vital Ground complies with national quality standards.
