As Vital Ground’s conservation impact continues to grow so does our team, as we are pleased to welcome Chelsea Klocke as the organization’s Administrative and Finance Assistant. Chelsea brings with her invaluable insight from her years working as a seasonal wildlife technician, assisting on a variety of projects with such species as bighorn sheep, marbled murrelets, and northern red-legged frogs.
Chelsea was born and raised in Montana, where she learned a love of wildlife and wild landscapes early on. She earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science with a biology minor from the University of Oregon in 2013. After college, her seasonal work took her to many incredible places in the West, including deserts, ancient forests, and the Pacific coast. She was always called back to Montana, however, and came back to live near friends and family in 2022.
“Grizzly territory is some of the most stunning country in the world. I feel so lucky to call this landscape home,” Chelsea says. “Now I get to work with Vital Ground and our supporters to help keep it healthy and intact. I’m happy to be here!”
Chelsea will provide essential office support in collaboration with Administration and Finance Director Shannon Drye and Membership and Donor Services Coordinator Emma Davidson. As the sturdy foundation of Vital Ground’s day-to-day operations, our administration department keeps everything running smoothly while we work diligently to protect wildlife and wild places.
Staffing our front desk, Chelsea will often be the friendly face and voice greeting you at our office or over the phone. You may also see her on the trails or at concert venues around Missoula as she enjoys birding, hiking with her dog, and live music in her free time. Welcome, Chelsea!
