These aluminum bookends were made from a foot cast taken by famed grizzly researchers, Frank and John Craighead. “Grizzly Bear No. 1” was the first anesthetized male the team immobilized during their 10-year ecological study of grizzlies in Yellowstone National Park. Grizzly No. 1 was between four and five years old and weighed 520 pounds.
