Emma is a Missoula native who returned to the area in 2019 after spending six years in Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Montana in 2012 with a degree in Women and Gender Studies, and worked for local women’s organizations until she moved to the eastern United States. While Emma’s roots are in nonprofit work, Vital Ground is the first conservation organization she’s been a part of, and she’s happy to switch gears! Growing up in Montana helped instill a deep appreciation for the natural world, which has only strengthened over time. Emma lives in Missoula with her wife Dora and their two cats – Huckleberry Pancakes and Pants. Outside the office, Emma is passionate about art and live music and loves to spend her free time embroidering.
