Monica joined the Vital Ground team in 2024. She brings a strong background in both wildlife conservation and business to her role in the Development Program, where she works to grow Vital Ground’s business partnerships and help build the necessary financial resources to fulfill our mission. After receiving a Business and Environmental Studies degree from the University of Wisconsin, Monica gained a decade of hands-on experience in grizzly country as a park ranger in Glacier National Park before spending several years working for an international leadership coaching company.
Monica grew up exploring the Northwoods of Wisconsin, where her love for the outdoors began. After college, she moved to Montana to pursue her dream of working in the mountains and helping to conserve wild places. She has spent the last 15 years exploring all corners of Montana while backpacking, snowboarding, hunting and fishing. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, and a good round of karaoke. Monica and her husband live in St. Ignatius, Mont., maintaining their small property and adventuring outdoors every chance they get.
